At a moment’s notice, the members of the Dassel Volunteer
Fire Department (DVFD) are ready to spring into action to
help those who need it most.
Those interested in becoming a volunteer fi refi ghter
should contact the fi re station at (320) 275-3260, or city hall
at (320) 275-2454. The Dassel Volunteer Fire Department’s
response area is approximately 125 square miles. In 2017, the
department responded to more than 300 calls, the most in the
history of the department.
The Dassel Fire Relief Association hosts two annual events
to raise funds for the department. Funds are primarily used
for equipment and upgrades. A french toast breakfast takes
place annually in May, and a pork chop dinner takes place
annually during National Fire Prevention Week in October.
The department also sends out calendars to its fi re district,
and received $12,500 in donations from calendar sales in
2016. This money goes toward upgrading equipment.
The department purchased the Mason building – the old
fi re station and city hall – which includes options for expansion
and additional parking.

so by sending a check to the DVFD at PO Box 56, Dassel,
