Located on the north bank of Cane Creek, Snow Camp is an 18th-century
settlement named by hunters who camped here during the winter of 1748,
when the camp was covered with two to three feet of snow.
Today, Snow Camp interprets colonial and antebellum life through livinghistory and theatrical productions. Its grounds include an indoor theatre
and an outdoor amphitheater where scenes from Stephen King’s Children
