The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. The event has a time limit, however the participants are not timed—winning is purely a matter of chance. Entry fee, prizes given, raffle. The Run will begin at noon and will end at 3 pm. Only a couple hundred feet if you attend the Mile High Kite Festival on Beech Mountain. This is a wonderful tradition on Beech Mountain, as the community welcomes back the Richmond Air Force and Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society Kiting Clubs. The first 300 kids will get a free kite for the competition, or they can be purchased. Kite clubs will demonstrate flying techniques, and also display their kites.
