Mountain Wine & Music Festival
O
n September 28th the Mountain Wine & Music Festival will feature
several Western North Carolina wineries and vineyards including:
Falderal Winery who opened their doors in 2010 producing wine from
locally-harvested grapes as well as from vineyards in wine-producing
regions of the U.S. and around the world; Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards
who is one of Henderson County’s newest vineyards and tasting room with
14 acres of wine-grapes; Burntshirt Vineyards opened their tasting room in
2012; and Parker-Binns Winery and Vineyard, located in Tryon, NC, who
planted their first vines in 2008. Several additional wineries will be joining
the festival and wine-tasting.
The festival will also feature local music: guitarist/singer/songwriter Chris
Smith/CarolinaBound, duo Carrie Morrison and Steve Whiteside, the
percussive bluegrass sounds of Nitrograss, solo guitarist Ellen Trnka and a
performance from Eric Congdon and special guest. Local food vendors will
include a local Hendersonville favorite, Louisiana-style Cypress Cellar and
barbecue hotspot Hubba Hubba Smokehouse from Flat Rock, NC. Other
local vendors will also be on-site throughout the day.
Event is rain or shine and will be tent-covered. Bring lawn chairs or
blankets. No pets, no coolers, and no outside food/drink brought onto the
