the Rock
W

hile Hanging Rock State Park
was voted top NC Park in
2012, many folks have discovered that
as well as the natural wonders in the
Park, there is also great adventure to
be found “Hanging Around the Rock!”
This area boasts many opportunities
for outdoor adventuring, sightseeing,
live music entertainment, or rocking
on a porch in gentle contemplation of
the surrounding beauty.

For excitement on the pristine Dan
River there are several opportunities to match one’s skill level. The
Dan River Company has kayaking/
canoeing for half day or full day
trips. Tubing is available at the everpopular Danbury General Store,
