Annual New Years Day First Footin’ Hike and 5 Miler Tue, January
1, 2013, 11am – 3pm Historic Rural Hill Huntersville, NC 28078 The
course of 5 miles will wind from Historic Rural Hill up beautiful and
secluded Neck Road to Folkston Drive, continue up Pamela Street and
back down Edna Drive. At that point Runners will return, ending at
Historic Rural Hill. This run is all paved and relatively easy, perfect for
getting back on track after the holidays. Challenge your body and ease
your mind by running one of Mecklenburg County’s most secluded
and historic rural roads. The delicious tradition of First Footin’ will
continue with homemade soup, fellowship, and revelry unlike any

Cowpens National Battlefield Anniversary Celebration Jan 19 – 20,
2013 Cowpens National Battlefield 4001 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney,
SC 29341 Cowpens National Battlefield will celebrate the 232 nd
anniversary of the Battle of Cowpens, a Revolutionary War battle
that helped turn the tide of war to the advantage of the Americans.
All activities are free and open to the public and all activities are
family-oriented. All weekend there will be a Revolutionary War
soldier encampment, including a blacksmith, set up for visitors to
