Christmas Flotilla and Parade Sat, December 1, 6pm – 7pm Peninsula Yacht
Club 18501 Harbor Light Boulevard, Cornelius, NC 28031 Registration
is open for the Christmas Flotilla and Parade, the Lake Norman Yacht
Club’s second annual sailboat decorating contest and parade on Lake
Norman. The parade will start at 6p.m. Dec. 1. Participants will sail
from channel marker D7 to the Rusty Rudder restaurant in Cornelius,
then back to the yacht club’s clubhouse. Participants are encouraged
to decorate their sailboats for the parade. A $250 gift certificate will
go to the best-decorated boat. Chili and refreshments will be served
at the clubhouse after the parade. The sign up fee is $10 per boat. All
boats should have required navigation lights and safety equipment on
board for the parade, which organizers said would end around 8p.m.
