Annual New Years Day First Footin’ Hike and 5 Miler Tue, January
1, 2013, 11am – 3pm Historic Rural Hill Huntersville, NC 28078 On
New Year’s Day, runners from around the region will participate in
the Rural Hill 2012 First Footin’ Five Miler, presented by McIntosh
Law Firm. The course of 5 miles will wind from Historic Rural Hill
up beautiful and secluded Neck Road to Folkston Drive, continue
up Pamela Street and back down Edna Drive. At that point Runners
will return, traveling back down Neck Road until ending at Historic
Rural Hill. This run is all paved and relatively easy, perfect for getting
back on track after the holidays. Challenge your body and ease your
mind by running one of Mecklenburg County’s most secluded and
historic rural roads. The race will start at 11:00am January 1st and will
end at Rural Retreat, where the delicious tradition of First Footin’ will
continue with homemade soup, fellowship, and revelry unlike any
