Rural Hill Food Truck Rally H istoric Rural Hill is proud to announce the RURAL HILL FOOD TRUCK RALLY to be held Friday, July 27 from 5 – 9pm, the first-ever Food Truck Rally in the Lake Norman area! All ages are invited to attend and check out the great food that can be found in our local food trucks. Admission to the Rally is free, but food pricing will vary per truck menu. The Rural Hill Food Truck Rally will feature live music, corn hole, local merchants, children’s activities, and living history experiences. Complete event information can be found at www.ruralhill.net. From New York through Florida, Food Truck Rallies are sweeping the nation. Rural Hill Executive Director Jeff Fissel said of the new event, “We are proud to host this Rally for the Lake Norman area. We have a great venue for festivals and events like this one, and we are excited to offer a Food Truck Rally experience for our community.” Long known in New York City, Los Angeles and other large cities, Food Trucks are on the rise. Michelle Boudin of Charlotte Magazine recently wrote that “some of the Queen City’s tastiest dishes are being served from the side of parked vehicles. These chefs of the road are updating Twitter feeds and websites to share where you can find their roving kitchens which offer inexpensive – and often gourmet – food.” 14 Locating the roving kitchens is so popular that The Charlotte Observer recently launched its interactive “Food Truck Tracker” map. Observer restaurant writer Helen Schwab wrote, “As the food truck scene continues to grow, we wanted a way to let readers know more about them and where they’ll be. Each week, food truck operators will share their information with the Observer, and we’ll create a Google map that shows where those trucks plan to be, when they plan to be there, what they’ll be serving, and other details. There’s a drop-down menu that you’ll use to choose the day you seek, and you’ll click on the pins to get additional information about particular places.” For more than 250 years in history… Rural Hill is located at 4431 Neck Road (off Beatties Ford Road) in Huntersville, 28078.
