The Kickstart Motorcycle Classic May 16 – 17, 2012 62 Vintage Lane
Maggie Valley, NC 28751. This is a riding event that stops at Wheels
Through Time sponsored in coordination with Buzz Kanter, publisher
of motorcycle industry magazine American Iron. Riders of classic
motorcycles participating in this event will stop over at the Museum on
their way to the Antique Motor Club of America (AMCA) National Meet
at Denton, NC. This is the third year of the Denton national meet, and
it attracts thousands of riders of classic motorcycles to North Carolina.
Welcome to all interested riders from Dale Walksler, curator of Wheels
Through Time, Buzz Kanter, publisher of American Iron, and the AMCA.

40th Annual Hang Gliding Spectacular May 18 – 21, 2012 300 Carolista
Drive Nags Head, NC 27959. This is the world’s oldest, continuous
hang gliding competition. Hang gliding professionals from all over the
world come to the Outer Banks to compete and have fun on Jockey’s
Ridge State Park. Demonstrations, street dances and award ceremonies
are all features of this spectacular event. Families can enjoy a rock
climbing wall, hang gliding simulator, kite making and face painting.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will go to benefit Friends of Jockey’s
Ridge, a non-profit organization which supports the development of
