off just yet. They have a menu of
over 50 items, with many of those
favorites of landlubbers. This
includes Baby Back Ribs, Prime
Rib, Chicken Alfredo, and so on.
However, come in on a Monday
night, and you won’t hear any
talk of these items. Oysters are
what’s on everyone lips, literally.
You can get a peck (which is give
or take 3 dozen) for the half peck
price. Or if you have a lighter
appetite or are just looking for
a starter, the dozen is sold at the
half-dozen price. Don’t be surprised if there is a wait for this 50
seat oyster bar on Monday nights.
“We shuck them for you. All you
have to do is eat!” Freddie says
with a smile. He knows how to
keep his customers coming back.
Sit around and you’ll see him
walking through the dining room
talking to his guests. People know
him by name. They’ve practically
grown up here. “We have people
come in that have been coming in
since they were kids. Now, they
are bringing their kids in. We are
pretty proud of that.” – N.L.
