With 40 to 60 bands and over 200 individual competitors each year, fans of mountain music won’t be disappointed. Featuring the Lonesome River Band on Saturday. The convention is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds in Sparta, with lots available for camping. The convention is held every year on the weekend of the third Saturday in July. July 16 •Chalk It Up! Main Street - Sidewalks Hendersonville, NC Chalk It Up! - The sidewalks of Historic Downtown Hendersonville become the canvas for some outstanding works of art.
