Surry County is located in the heart of North Carolina wine country and is home to nearly half of the valley’s 30 wineries. “We’re hoping the same type of people who go to the rallies in Myrtle Beach will come to Mayberry, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Yadkin Valley wine country,” event organizer Ric Marshall told the local newspaper. “We have a perfect spot for people to visit and hopefully add to the tourism of the county.” Mount Airy tourism director Jes- MADMAN CUSTOM sica Icenhour said the topography of Surry County and the surrounding area is perfect for a bike rally. “We have rolling flatlands in the southern part of the county and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the northern section,” said Icenhour. “There are great two-lane roads for riding, including the Blue Ridge Parkway.
