Welcome to Darling Dog Magazine ! I got the idea about a year ago while thinking about what folks really want to read when they get a few minutes to themselves . Not serious stuff but fun things to scroll through online !
That got me thinking , “ What do people love to read about ?” Well , I still remember learning to read with Dick and Jane : “ See Spot run .” I also remember crying my eyes out over Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows , and really enjoying The Call of the Wild and The Art of Racing in the Rain . The answer was obvious : a magazine about how much we love dogs and how awesome they are !
I don ’ t have any experience with publishing or journalism , but I ’ ve lived life . From selling ads for the local newspaper to selling meat door-to-door to eventually working in finance for over 20 years — all the while meeting a ton of interesting people . That ’ s how I found our amazing writers ! They ’ re from all over the country , and they all have totally different backgrounds . One is a renowned historian , one owns a KFC and is known far and wide as “ Big Chicken ,” and one may even take your confession . But we all love dogs and want you to enjoy our stories . We also want to hear yours !
