I intend to pick several artistic representations of the story and explain the erotism I find in each version . My first choice is Artemisia Gentileschi depictions . She , of course , is a woman which makes it interesting on several levels . Her painting of the tale is the one often used to push the feminist argument . I totally get that view but for me what is most interesting is that I find her painting far more erotic and exciting than many other depictions and particularly far more exciting and erotic than her more famous male contemporary Caravaggio . Caravaggio ’ s painting , although shocking and gory , seems to me unrealistic with the killers displayed as easily overcoming their foe with an almost disinterested distain on their faces . The figures are static and in many ways lifeless . The Gentileschi version is much more visceral , much more animated . Holofernes is naked and visibly struggling for his life as Judith and her maid hold him down and saw off his head . The expression on their faces is of professional killers concentrating on their task and having to work physically very hard to complete their bloody task . They give off an air of ruthless efficiency which highly arouses me . The look of shock and horror on Holofernes face is palpable as he realises his fate ; this also arouses me greatly and makes me ponder the question , is this how I would feel and react in his position ? The traditional story has Judith disarming her physically stronger foe by getting him drunk but my theory is somewhat different . She seduces him , giving him a night of unbridled sexual passion making him cum like a wild bull several times before dispatching him to the slaughter with his own sword during his post-coital slumber and befuddlement . He only awakes to experience the last painful distressing seconds of his life . Trying to push off his assailants with flailing arms and legs , he is too late to prevent his own demise and dies in a death spasm , mimicking an orgasm with blood gurgling in his throat until his head is finally severed . It is Horrific , transfixing and oh so sexy ! This back-story is vital to my erotism of the story ; without that scenario in my head of a night of no-holds-barred sex it wouldn ’ t be as sexually exciting . On it ’ s own it is a killing , a murder , and I don ’ t find that as a standalone act particularly arousing . With the back-story in my mind I look at the picture with a very hard cock that I want to stroke .
Female erotic killers have always been attractive to me ; the act of killing is sexually exciting especially when the dying male
grunts and spasms as if in orgasm , but to make it super-erotic I need a back-story fantasy about sexual exploits beforehand to really turn me on . I believe this is why this story has been revisited so many times by art critics and artists over the centuries , not just because of the violent and shocking nature of the scene , but they have created their own sexual fantasy , little sexual prequels so they can appreciate the story again and justify painting it or critiquing it .
