just one type of kink . “ I am interested in any of those moments of ecstasy , whatever their nature : thoroughly organized by the complexity of rules and codes , the decorum of fetish practices , or the happy chaos of spontaneous copulation , by pair of more . All those moments are moments of life , they are rich of a strong humanity , cheerful , funny sometimes , serious at other times – they are always loaded with a deep , powerful emotion .”
And as for that unsettling feeling , “ I make pictures and leave it with the audience whether they wish to see them as art or as pornography , or both . I do not care about categories .”
I caught up with Laurent and asked if he would describe the book himself . Endorphine is truly wonderful ! Can you tell our readers more ?
“ After 35 years , I have decided to produce a new monographic book , the one that is closest to my heart , the most personal , the one that I want to master from start to finish and which will be the most sincere representation of what I wish to reveal .
“ I sorted through my work of the last 10 years , I brought out the best in each photo shoot , I spent weeks scanning my images , selecting for months the images that defined me , the strongest , the most intimate , those who were going to tell that story , the individual and intimate stories that all these individuals were able to present to me . Because the idea was there , at the heart of my work , to photograph the history and the sexuality of all these bodies . In the end , at least 200 images will be printed in this book .
