‘I grew up in Arnos Grove. If you know it, you know it’s nothing special. Nevertheless, it’s still
London. I decided to draw this mini collection capturing the little details of North London transport.
Arnos Grove is on the Piccadilly Line, so I made this image specific to the interior details of
a Piccadilly Line train, and the 43 bus made an exciting nightlife possible. When I turned 18, XOYO
was my favourite club, and the 43 took me basically from door to door. I was the last stop on the
bus too, so I could pass out on my journey home and know I wouldn’t miss it.’

With her name
meaning ‘night’ in
Sanskrit, Nisha is
forever inspired
by nocturnal
perambulations,
penned by
moonlight.
She’s the girl who rides free
with you beneath her
Wind in her hair
Fire in her soul
Mischief in her eyes
Sugar on her lips
London girls who
make out with the lights on
dance with the lights off
She carries the dusk in her eyes
dawn in her laughter
She’s the crystal powder
proclaiming your brain
She’s the spirit of the Babylon
A siren of the night
A ghost of the day, unseen
she’ll walk past you
and all you will hear is the echo
of the rumbling roar. Roar.
