are taking a more laid-back approach.
Deponia: The Complete Journey | PS4/Switch/XBOne/PC/Mac |
It’s Monkey Island on steroids. That’s all you have to read. No but seriously, this game
from Daedalic Entertainment is a riotous romp all throughout. With a witty cast and cute
artwork, you play as loveable asshole Rufus, who of course is desperately in love with
pretty girl Goal (who he doesn’t speak to for the majority of the first game, remember this
is an asshole). The charismatic characters pull you through some of the duller moments
and tougher minigames, and the unfettering hope of the protagonist is a real pick-me-up
in this charming game.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons | Switch |
You could almost present this game without introduction, that’s how ubiquitous it’s been
since its release in late March. This Nintendo debt simulation, fronted by adorable
animals, is escapism in its purest form. Oh, to be on a deserted island right now, your
only worry being getting the Ironwood Kitchenette. Pick up a copy and enjoy the spoils of
a game that doesn’t let you rush.
