No but seriously, this game from Daedalic Entertainment is a riotous romp all throughout. With a witty cast and cute artwork, you play as loveable asshole Rufus, who of course is desperately in love with pretty girl Goal (who he doesn’t speak to for the majority of the first game, remember this is an asshole). The charismatic characters pull you through some of the duller moments and tougher minigames, and the unfettering hope of the protagonist is a real pick-me-up in this charming game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons | Switch | You could almost present this game without introduction, that’s how ubiquitous it’s been since its release in late March. This Nintendo debt simulation, fronted by adorable animals, is escapism in its purest form. Oh, to be on a deserted island right now, your only worry being getting the Ironwood Kitchenette. Pick up a copy and enjoy the spoils of a game that doesn’t let you rush. 13
