PATRICK MOREY Pitching Coach Patrick Morey will be working with the Dans pitching staff during the 2022 season . He just completed his fifth season as an Assistant Coach for John A . Logan College in Carterville , IL , also working with their pitchers .
During Coach Morey ’ s tenure at Logan , his staffs have consistently been at the top in the nation in multiple categories , while in every fully played season setting a new school record for strikeouts by the staff . In 2021 , ‘ Coach Mo ’ s ’ staff finished 11th in the nation in strikeouts and top 25 in K / 9 . His pitchers continue to be the highly sought after with over 26 former hurlers receiving NCAA D1 scholarships , including four of those becoming pros since 2018 .
He has also coached previously at McCook Community College , Mount Michael Benedictine High School in Elkhorn , NE , and at his alma mater – Hastings College in Hastings , NE .
JOSIAH HISSONG Hitting Coach Josiah Hissong will be assisting the Dans players in their hitting and fielding skills this summer . He has been as assistant coach at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo , FL , since 2019 .
Hissong saw his first season on the diamond for the Lions cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Prior to the stoppage he helped guide the Lions to a four-game sweep of his alma mater Alderson Broaddus University , Philippi , WV ,
He was a former student-athlete at Alderson Broaddus where he spent three years as a catcher for the Battlers before transitioning into a student coach role . He helped with the catchers during his one season as a student coach .
He graduated from Alderson Broaddus with a degree in business administration .
