This approach allows a business owner the ability to “guarantee” the work done on his
business. The logic he is using is that, if he had two people do his taxes, neither of them
can be entirely responsible for those taxes, so you just have one that does them.
With the Design-Build approach, if there are any issues with cost overruns then there is
only one company that is responsible and they have to justify those costs. There is no
blame game and everyone works together to pursue the completion of the project.
In the end, there are people who still favor the traditional way of design and construction.
It is, after all, how things have been done for many, many years. The concept of design-
build is new, but it also being perceived to people as the more sensible approach of the
future.
