café. The design concept explores the embracing relationship between tectonic and
stereometric.
Capitol Hill Studio
Spring/2013
Designed a complex of community center, sports courts, exhibition hall, and administrative offices.
The mixed-use is located at a sensitive area called Capitol Hill (Seattle) that has quite a rich
character in history and urban culture. The design strategy breaks the building’s functions down
into different categories, ties them together with a core, and lets that inform the architecture.
Ballard Studio
Fall/2013
Designed a medical center for a collective of five doctors for the neighborhood of Ballard, Seattle.
The building functions both as a health care facility and as a business office. The approach of
design tackles the public-private nature of such facility and creates a choreography of movement
using material science of transparency, translucency, and solidity to guide users.
Beijing Studio
Winter 2013
Designed a new headquarters for Ink Pak communication group that specializes in public relations,
celebrity management, and event hosting worldwide in Beijing, China.
The building’s functionality includes: business office, design studio, V.I.P. private reception, fashion
runway, and cultural center for the Chinese community in the historic Shichahai district. The design
underlines transformability and reconfiguration of space to bring various experiences.
