Dr. Kimberly Mezera, M.D.
is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon
who specializes in both surgical and nonsurgical
treatment of hand and upper extremity conditions,
including nerve compression syndromes, tendinitis,
arthritis of the hand, wrist, and elbow, fracture, and
trauma care. She has additional expertise in the
treatment of pediatric hand conditions including
congenital differences.
Dr. Mezera is a University of North Texas
graduate and received her medical degree from the
University Of Texas Southwestern Medical School
at Dallas. She is board certified by the American
Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a member
of the American Society for Surgery of
the Hand.
Dr. Mezera is the director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Center of Dallas located at Medical City Dallas
Hospital. Her practice philosophy is to deliver state of the art care to patients with hand and arm problems
by providing access to innovative therapy modalities and cutting edge technology. Dr. Mezera promotes a
comprehensive approach to the treatment of patients from diagnosis through treatment including directing a
customized therapy and rehabilitation program designed to return patients to the activities they love.
Honored by D Magazine and Texas Monthly for several years now, she is also a graduate of the highly
sought after Young Leaders in Hand Surgery Program through The American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
She presently serves on several national committees for the Hand Society and is actively involved in the
American Orthopedic Association. She also serves as faculty for the highly respected AO international
foundation which is dedicated to research and education in orthopedic trauma and fracture care as well
as a consultant reviewer for the esteemed Journal of Hand Surgery and has authored many textbook
chapters and articles in the field of hand surgery.
