WHY YOU NEED A

Family Physician

Healthcare is fragmented , but you are not . Every part of you is affected by another part of you . Your toe is connected to your brain , your liver is connected to your heart . Hormones can alter your mood . Your mood can impact your immunity . Every cell , every organ , whether they are touching or not , is influenced by the sum of you .
You are more than the collection of your parts and you need a physician that understands the whole of you . You need a family physician .
You are time in motion , affected by both your history and your future . You are a product of the generations before you , yet who you can become is amazingly under your control . Choices of diet , exercise , activity , and study all combine to affect you . Even your thoughts have an impact on your being , influencing your hormones , blood flow , and immunity . All of which barely scratches the surface of the interactivity that defines you .
Your medical record can never adequately describe you . No software can fully assess you , and no computer can really understand you . You are unique , so you need a physician uniquely trained to see all of you .
When you consult a medical specialist , you gain insight into that part of you . Your heart , your knee , or your colon may need that special attention . We are thankful for those physicians who have focused their wisdom and training to understand each area in fine detail .
A family physician takes a different view . Your family physician gazes at the sum of who you are , and sees you best by stepping back , instead of leaning in .
You have a limp , you are breathing fast , you look away , you cry easily . There is a rash on your cheek , a swollen wrist , and a skip in your pulse . You have two children , you are tired , and you ’ ve lost your faith .
Every part of you is affected by another part . No one else can see you with the depth and breadth of a family physician . No other specialist , pharmacist , nurse , or counselor can see as much of who you are as your family physician .
As you change over time , there is strength in a relationship that changes with you . An understanding that can only develop over time , a peace and trust that forms from mutual experience , with a familiar touch that brings comfort and healing . This is why you need a family physician .
