The Miss Tourism Kisumu County beauty pagent was recently held the same day that Gor Mahia were crowned the KPL 2014 Champs attracted a number of beauties from around the various sub-counties that form the greater Kisumu County. It was a stiff competition peting the beauty queens in their own rights. At the end of it all, the fairest of them all was crowned.

Kisumu County welcome your new tourism queen - Ms Christine Pete Norlan, a student at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega. She represents Nyando Sub-County.

"I am started already, my first program on support groups for HIV/AIDS in Kisumu county starting soon" - Christine Pete Norlan.

HIV/AIDS status in Kisumu County is ranked third highest in the country. This has made the local leaders worried with reports that up to 30 people get infected with the virus every single day.

The County Executive Committee Member in charge of Health Dr Elizabeth Ogaja thus asked the young to desist from engaging in unsafe sex since a good number of them contract HIV through that.

To be able to help the HIV/AIDS prevalensce trend that the county queen wants to help address, let's support her initiatives and sponsor in one way or another to make Kisumu County record the highest reduction in this disease trrends.

The beauty queen is also going to dedicate her time to promote Kisumu County as a tourism destination. She calls on all tourism enthusthiasts to join her walk of marketing this destinatin.
