Cataracts ? Reclaim your vision
You want to have cataract surgery at some point in your life . You should want to have this surgery someday ! Why would this be ? Because cataract development is a completely normal condition , and the only thing that would cause you to not need surgery would be to not live long enough to need it . You do want to live long enough to need it … right ?
Cataract is development of cloudiness of the lens you were born with in your eye . You ’ ll know you are having problems with cataract if you are having trouble with your vision , such as trouble driving due to blurriness or glare , trouble reading , trouble with work or hobbies , etc . You may be told you have cataracts in the course of a routine eye examination , but generally surgery isn ’ t needed for cataracts that are causing no problems .
Cataract surgery is the removal of the cloudy natural lens and replacement with an artificial , clear lens , performed in the operating room .
You should undergo an eye examination yearly anyway to screen for glaucoma and other eye disease , but especially if you are having problems . Cataract surgery is a painless procedure , and nothing to fear .
