Although they are twins, their personalities are completely different,“Courtney is more outgoing and straight forward, while I’m more laid back.” Tori says the twins share the same desires and dreams but, while Tori keeps her dreams to herself, Courtney is more vocal about them. “[Courtney] is the forceful encouragement I need [in the gym].” Tori says she is encouraging on a more rational level, giving Courtney the words she needs to hear when she doesn’t believe in her capabilities in the gym.
Tori has learned a lot from Courtney as a person and a gymnast, “[She’s taught me] to never give up! Courtney has torn her ACL 3 times, redshirted her freshman year, dealt with back pain her sophomore year, and is now doing gymnastics on a fraying rotator cuff.” Through her college experience, Tori has learned if you have a little bit of resiliency and determination, you can set your mind to accomplish anything.
The Cochefski twins and the TWU Gymnastics team are on their journey to winning their 10th USAG National Championship this year!
