Imagine,
a 17-year-old, Korean student imprisoned in Chicago Airport.
When I was a high school student, have been picked for exchange student to USA and study there for one year. This incident made me jump around all over the places.
The day came to fly to abroad by myself. This flight was my first flight for this I drilled my English.
I had self-confident not to get in trouble and thought my English is not that awful. After really long flight, (about 10 hours) arrived in Chicago. When my legs stepped out from the airplane, my eyes captured scenery of airport filled with western people. This scenery turned up with huge shock.
Story starts from now. When I approached to immigration booth, my walking was full of prides and confidence, but actual feelings occupied with nerves and threats.
Looking my passport, immigrant made inquiry what my name was. My mouth repeated made ready answer really confidently. “My name is Jong Ho Park.”
He stared at me, it seemed like shooting laser beams from his eye, and skimmed over my passport. Right after he finished scanning my passport, said something really fast that my ears couldn’t catch his words.
