Cyprus, the island of love, surrounded
by clear blue seas of the Mediterranean,
and nestled beneath Turkey and Greece,
close to Syria.
Cyprus is well known since ancient times as
the Island of Aphrodite, the Goddess of
love and beauty, as it is believed she, to
have risen from the coast of Paphos,

said that she was born of foam of Uranus’

scallop shell. Aphrodite adorns the island of

taken on her name today.
