The top tech
news stories this week
It’s hard to keep up with all the news that’s going on these days! For most of us, we just
don’t have time to browse through all the stories on every news page. There are new
products, gadgets, revelations, updates and discoveries emerging every day. It can be
difficult to sort everything and find the most interesting headlines. Fortunately, we’ve done
that for you, and summarized the top tech news stories this week.
Gartner was the folk who
(accurately) predicted several of the
megatrends of the last decade. Those
predictions would be the widespread use
of mobiles, the use of social analytics (con-
sidering things like SEO and keyword map-
ping) as well as cloud storage and sharing.
They were absolutely bang-on in regards to
those three things, so we’ve got no reason
to doubt them any further.
The furthering of AI and its eventual
emergence as a megatrend is thanks to our
incredible advances in technology in several
key areas.

ANALYSTS
SUGGEST “AI”
WILL BE THE
NEXT BIG
MEGATREND
• We’re developing more intricate neural
networks than ever before
• We have nearly an unlimited amount of data
available
• The power of our computers is unprecedented
The combination of these technologies and a growing
desire to recreate human intelligence are the main driving
forces behind the emerging AI megatrend. However, with
the new megatrend comes a lot of concern from scientists
and civilians alike.
Many questions what the ultimate intention of artificially
intelligent robots will be. Will they happily serve humans? Will
we co-exist? Or will there be a rebellion? You may remember
a startling experience from last year’s most prominent AI
robot showcase. The robot, live on stage
in front of an audience and being live-
streamed to thousands more online,
announced that it wanted to ‘destroy
all humans.
