The sky bridge that connects the
two towers, is another treat not to
miss and is not for the fainthearted.
A true relic of Malaysia’s
history, the city has been
a UNESCO Heritage site
since 2008.
The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur
If you love the daring and heights, then the Petronas Towers should
do it for you. Standing as the world’s tallest twin towers, the building
held the record for tallest in the world, till 2004, but it lost nothing in its
splendour and beauty when it lost the title of the world’s tallest building.
Designed by Argentine Cesar Pelli, the building has 88 floors, and an
Islamic-styled designed in honour of Malaysia’s Muslim religion. Tower
One is completely occupied by Petronas, while tower two is occupied by
renowned companies such as HUAWEI, Microsoft, AVEVA, Boeing, IBM,
and much more. Shopping malls and the exquisite Suria KLCC shopping
mall, and KLCC park can also be found in and below the towers.
George Town, Penang
Cameron Highlands, Pahang
Carpeted by beautiful strawberry plantations and the bliss-
ful green of tea leaves, this cool and refreshing place was
discovered by British surveyor, William Cameron, in the 19th
century, and is one of the top tourist spots in the country, not
just for verdancy, but also for its serene environment. For tour-
ists who love hiking, the hills and trails here are just perfect.
This has to be on the wish list of any tourist, it never fails to deliver, from
entertainment, splendour, to delicious treat, Penang is always on point.
One of the biggest attractions of the beautiful State is its capital, the city
of George Town. The city is divided into two’ the old town, which was a
key trading route during colonial times, and still has the British buildings
such as the impressive Fort Cornwallis to show for it. Being a port town,
the place also became a multicultural and diversity capital, and inherited
from all of those cultures, from architecture to craft, and we dare not
forget to mention it is the food capital of Malaysia. Its delectable and
ubiquitous street food is a MUST for every foodie. The new George
Town is a reminder that the modern and the old are complimentary, a
truly modern metropolis with skyscrapers and hi-tech facilities that are
state-of-the-art and simply breathtaking. Backdropped by a picturesque
skyline and green hills, we doubt you’ll ever get over George Town.
Kota Kinabalu
Quickly becoming one of the top spots for tourists in the country, Kota
Kinabalu is home to the tallest mountain in Malaysia, Mount Kinabalu. It
is also bordered by exciting theme parks, wildlife reserves, and tropical
islands, that just makes you want to go on an adventure and beyond. The
surrounding islands are ideal for scuba diving, snorkelling, and total relaxa-
tion o the beaches. The city centre itself is dotted with observatories and
a helping of landmarks that will sure keep your camera busy all through.
And just so you know, Kinabalu has one of the
most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see.
We won’t tell you about Melaka and its eclectic diversity and assort-
ment of culture, or the city of Kuching and its amazing umbrella-shaped
roofs. We won’t even tell you the oldest rainforest in the world (Taman
Negara), we’ll let you take a trip to Malaysia and wait for your postcard.
You won’t get over it.
