The sky bridge that connects the two towers, is another treat not to miss and is not for the fainthearted. A true relic of Malaysia’s history, the city has been a UNESCO Heritage site since 2008. The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur If you love the daring and heights, then the Petronas Towers should do it for you. Standing as the world’s tallest twin towers, the building held the record for tallest in the world, till 2004, but it lost nothing in its splendour and beauty when it lost the title of the world’s tallest building. Designed by Argentine Cesar Pelli, the building has 88 floors, and an Islamic-styled designed in honour of Malaysia’s Muslim religion. Tower One is completely occupied by Petronas, while tower two is occupied by renowned companies such as HUAWEI, Microsoft, AVEVA, Boeing, IBM, and much more. Shopping malls and the exquisite Suria KLCC shopping mall, and KLCC park can also be found in and below the towers. George Town, Penang Cameron Highlands, Pahang Carpeted by beautiful strawberry plantations and the bliss- ful green of tea leaves, this cool and refreshing place was discovered by British surveyor, William Cameron, in the 19th century, and is one of the top tourist spots in the country, not just for verdancy, but also for its serene environment. For tour- ists who love hiking, the hills and trails here are just perfect. This has to be on the wish list of any tourist, it never fails to deliver, from entertainment, splendour, to delicious treat, Penang is always on point. One of the biggest attractions of the beautiful State is its capital, the city of George Town. The city is divided into two’ the old town, which was a key trading route during colonial times, and still has the British buildings such as the impressive Fort Cornwallis to show for it. Being a port town, the place also became a multicultural and diversity capital, and inherited from all of those cultures, from architecture to craft, and we dare not forget to mention it is the food capital of Malaysia. Its delectable and ubiquitous street food is a MUST for every foodie. The new George Town is a reminder that the modern and the old are complimentary, a truly modern metropolis with skyscrapers and hi-tech facilities that are state-of-the-art and simply breathtaking. Backdropped by a picturesque skyline and green hills, we doubt you’ll ever get over George Town. Kota Kinabalu Quickly becoming one of the top spots for tourists in the country, Kota Kinabalu is home to the tallest mountain in Malaysia, Mount Kinabalu. It is also bordered by exciting theme parks, wildlife reserves, and tropical islands, that just makes you want to go on an adventure and beyond. The surrounding islands are ideal for scuba diving, snorkelling, and total relaxa- tion o the beaches. The city centre itself is dotted with observatories and a helping of landmarks that will sure keep your camera busy all through. And just so you know, Kinabalu has one of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see. We won’t tell you about Melaka and its eclectic diversity and assort- ment of culture, or the city of Kuching and its amazing umbrella-shaped roofs. We won’t even tell you the oldest rainforest in the world (Taman Negara), we’ll let you take a trip to Malaysia and wait for your postcard. You won’t get over it. 29
