Lt (N) George Economou

(JRCC) Joint Rescue Coordination Center of Cyprus
Lieutenant NAVY George Economou was born in 1980 in Limassol, originating from the occupied city of
Famagusta. He entered the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1998 and graduated in 2002 as an Ensign (N). He served
the National Guard from various positions such as the as Deputy Commander of Coastal Batteries,
Commander of Ayia Napa Naval Observatory, Commanding Officer of FPB “Lieutenant-Commander NAVY E.
TSOMAKIS”.
Since 2nd of November 2016, he is serving to the Operations department of the Joint Rescue Coordination
Center.
He has attended all required training courses and has received all the medals provided to his rank.
Moreover, he holds a Master’s Degree in Management.
He is married and he is the father of 2 children.
