Mar.In.E.M. was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting Maritime and Marine Research, Technology and Innovation, as well as Education and Training, within the context of a Sustainable Blue Growth. The Institute acts as a Forum and a Think‐tank but also as an Incubator of Business Opportunities on Maritime Affairs, encouraging and facilitating Dialogue, Networking and Cooperation among the sector’s stakeholders in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Outmost vision of Mar.In.E.M. is the establishment of an active research driven “Maritime Cluster of the Eastern Mediterranean”, that will strengthen and enhance cooperation of the Region’s countries, in line with the EU’s Blue Paper for an Integrated Maritime Policy as well as the ‘Limassol Declaration’.
