Captain Constantinos Fytiris

Captain Constantinos Fytiris was born in Paralimni Famagusta on December 28, 1960. He joined the
Marine Cadets Academy, Greece in 1978 and graduated in 1982 as an Ensign.
He served on fast patrol boats until 1985. During the same year he attended the School of Submarine
Officers of the Greek Navy and had his training on the Submarine ‘’AMPHITRITI’’. Then and until 1987
he was appointed as Operation Officer at Zygi Naval base.
From 1987 to 1989 he studied in Athens at the Political Engineers Department of the Engineering
Military Academy.
In 1990, he successfully graduated from the School of Underwater Demolition and he was appointed at
the Underwater Demolition Unit where he served as Commander for thirteen years (until 2003).In
1997, he graduated from the Higher Naval School of War.
The period 2003 to 2005 he served as Operations Director of the Navy Commander.
In 2006 has successfully graduated from the Higher School of National Defense, in Greece.
From 2006 to 2010 he served at the National Guard General Staff as Operations Director.
Since 2010 he is serving as the Commander of Larnaca Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC Larnaca)
of the Cyprus Republic.
From the July of 2014 since today, in combination with his duty as Commander of the JRCC, he is
serving as Director of the Ministerial Staff of the Minister of Defence.
In his competences domain he deals with crisis management issues and participates in several
committees. He is the draftsman of crisis Management master plan of the Republic of Cyprus.
He is married with Evaggelia Louka and he is the father of two children 20 and 18 years old.
