Ladies and Gentlemen
It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the invitation to address the second CYpBER conference
2016, an event of great international importance and also crucially relevant to the present and the near
future of Cyprus itself.
A conference, that provides a unique opportunity for Cypriot private sector professionals and
government officials, to participate in dialogue and acquire expert knowledge on a very important
issue, that of Maritime, Oil and Gas Cyber Security.
I take this opportunity to welcome everyone and especially all overseas participants to Nicosia, the
capital of Cyprus. We certainly feel honored to have you all here and I do hope our city proves to be an
inspiring and productive venue as well as a hub of fruitful ideas.
I would like to express my gratitude and extend a big thank you to the organizers, Zomidea Design &
Services ltd for all their effort and their decision to host this conference in Nicosia, giving our city the
opportunity to host such an important event and welcome so many esteemed and respected specialists
from all over the world.
I hope you find that your stay here has been both productive and pleasant and in addition to the
benefits of the conference, that you will all have the opportunity to get to know Nicosia, its rich
heritage and the problems it faces as the last divided capital of Europe.
