Primer Preparation

Key around the repair prior to applying
etch primer using 3M ™ Hookit ™ Purple+
Abrasive Discs Multihole P320/P500
(50531/50534). Awkward areas can
be sanded using Hookit ™ Flexible
Abrasive Sheets P400 (34337).

Move vehicle into primer booth. Mask
off the repair area with 3M ™ Soft Edge
Masking Foam Tape PLUS (50421)
and apply 3M ™ Taped Masking Film
(05967/68/69/70/71) to protect the
surrounding areas.

Blow and wipe down with 3M ™
General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner
(08984) using 3M ™ Professional
Panel Wipes (34567).

Apply Masking Tape for critical edges
prior to full mask using 3M ™ Scotch ®
High Performance Masking Tape
3434 in 19mm (07895) to outline
the area to be masked.

Tack area prior to primer preparation
with 3M ™ Tack Cloth (07910).
Apply primer to repairs according
to paint company recommendations
using 3M ™ Accuspray ™ Spray Gun
HG14 (16577). Keep spray area to a
minimum and avoid hard edges. Dry
to paint company recommendations.
