Take a 3 minute walk to the centre of St.Jean-en-Royans for a coff ee, shops or visit the weekly market to buy and sample local products including cheese, walnut products, ravioles, honey and wine. Th e Vercors is a playground for outdoor activities with many walking routes directly from our door or higher up the plateau. Canyoning, canoeing and rock climbing are also very popular. We are a short drive from Drome Provencal if you want to see Lavender fi elds or visit the famous wineries of the Rhône Alpes. For those wanting a city experience you can take the train or drive to Grenoble (40 mins) or Lyon (35 mins from Valence or 1 ½ drive) When is the best time to cycle in the Vercors ? Th e Velo Vercors season starts at the beginning of May and ends in October. For those concerned it might be too hot to cycle at the height of summer be assured that the heat is never stifl ing. You are almost always surrounded by water and the landscape remains lush and verdant and the higher you climb the cooler the temperature becomes.
