Operating from Scotland and working throughout the UK, the company provides installation expertise across commercial, residential, education and public sector developments, combining façade delivery with drylining and internal systems capability.
The company’ s core services include roofing systems, rainscreen cladding, standing seam systems, wall cladding, structural framing systems( SFS), partitions and suspended ceilings. This broad technical offering enables Metaltech to undertake coordinated packages across both external envelope and interior fit-out elements, helping simplify interfaces for clients and principal contractors.
Metaltech works with a range of established system manufacturers and specification-led products, delivering installation packages tailored to the requirements of each project. The company’ s project portfolio includes schools, mixed-use developments, housing schemes and commercial buildings where thermal performance, fire compliance and façade detailing are central to project outcomes.
A significant recent project within the education sector is the Tain Community Campus development in the Highlands, delivered for Kier Construction. The scheme is recognised as the first school building in the Highland region to achieve Passivhaus certification, placing stringent demands on airtightness, insulation continuity and thermal performance throughout the building envelope.
At Tain Community Campus, Metaltech delivered approximately 7,500m ² of Elite Plus 5 roofing with a U-value of 0.12W / m ² k, alongside approximately 2,500m ² of Anvil EPSF extruded plank wall cladding. The project required careful installation sequencing and close coordination with other trades to maintain the thermal integrity associated with Passivhaus construction standards.
The Passivhaus standard imposes demanding requirements around air leakage, junction detailing and material continuity. On projects such as Tain Community Campus, roofing and cladding contractors play a critical role in achieving the final operational performance targets. Metaltech’ s involvement in the project highlights the increasing technical expectations placed on specialist envelope contractors within low-energy public buildings.
In the residential and mixed-use sector, Metaltech has also delivered substantial packages at 139 Leith Walk in Edinburgh, a major development constructed by Ogilvie Construction. The project combined façade systems, structural framing and internal fit-out packages across a complex urban site.
At 139 Leith Walk, Metaltech completed approximately 13,600m ² of Knauf partitions and 4,600m ² of Knauf ceilings, alongside 2,700m ² of Metsec structural framing system installation. This integrated scope allowed coordination between internal and external systems while supporting programme efficiency across the development.
The project also incorporated several specialist façade finishes. Around 600m ² of Vieo aluminium standing seam cladding was installed to form detailed pods surrounding windows, creating a dormer-style appearance influenced by traditional zinc roof architecture. Additional façade works included approximately 80m ² of Euroclad Opus plank soffit cladding within pend and walkway areas.
A further architectural element involved installation of approximately 310m ² of Etex Equitone Linea fibre cement cladding in the LT20 Pebble finish. The panels were installed in a chevron arrangement, adding texture and visual variation to the façade composition. Such detailing demonstrates the growing architectural complexity associated with contemporary residential envelope systems.
