ROK CONSTRUCTION- LES OZOUETS CAMPUS

Rok Construction is delivering the new Les Ozouets Campus in Guernsey, creating a purpose-built centre for post-16 education that will bring together academic, technical and vocational learning within a single modern campus.
A major investment in Guernsey’ s education estate is beginning to reshape the island’ s approach to post- 16 learning. Construction is progressing at Les Ozouets Campus, where Rok Construction is delivering a new further education facility that will become the home of The Guernsey Institute and create a dedicated centre for academic, technical and professional education.
The £ 61.6 million first phase of the project will consolidate several education providers onto a single campus, including The Guernsey Institute, the GTA University Centre and the Institute of Health & Social Care Studies. Together, the facilities are expected to support more than 5,000 learners each year through a broad curriculum spanning traditional academic study, apprenticeships and vocational training. a series of landscaped courtyards and public spaces intended to encourage interaction between students from different disciplines.
Architecturally, the development is characterised by a series of simple building forms linked by colonnades, terraces and open piazzas. Existing facilities, including the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts, are being retained and integrated into the wider campus, allowing established cultural facilities to become part of the new educational environment.
Rok Construction secured the contract following a competitive two-stage procurement process. Before commencing the main build, the contractor completed demolition of the former St Peter Port School buildings together with enabling works, allowing construction of the new campus to begin in early 2025.
The campus has been designed by Design Engine Architects, working with local architect Tyrrell Dowinton Associates and a multidisciplinary consultant team. Rather than creating a collection of separate buildings, the masterplan organises teaching accommodation around
