Cuckoo Fields in Hailsham has secured NHBC Pride in the Job recognition, with the Quality Award acknowledging the site leadership and construction standards behind one of East Sussex’ s growing residential communities.
With more than 17 acres of open space, four play areas and a community fitness trail planned across the development, Cuckoo Fields has been conceived around the landscape as much as the homes themselves. The neighbourhood is being created off Station Road in Hailsham by BDW Homes, bringing new housing alongside recreational space and pedestrian connections close to the town centre.
The development includes homes marketed through the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, with a varied residential offer intended to meet different household requirements. Its location places residents near the Cuckoo Trail and within reach of the South Downs, while Hailsham town centre lies approximately one mile away.
Against this setting, the work of the site team has gained recognition through the NHBC Pride in the Job programme. Site Manager Mark Hazell received a Quality Award for the standards maintained during construction at Cuckoo Fields.
The award places the focus on the management behind the development rather than its sales specification or finished appearance. Site managers are observed and assessed throughout the construction process, requiring standards to be maintained consistently as individual homes move through groundwork, structural work, internal installation and final completion.
