The H2 Lands development on Buncrana Road in Derry forms part of a major long-term residential expansion programme, with Braidwater delivering the first phase of affordable homes for Apex Housing Association at the Riverglenn site.
Construction is progressing on the H2 Lands development at Buncrana Road in Derry / Londonderry, where Braidwater is delivering the first residential phase of the wider Riverglenn masterplan for Apex Housing Association. The scheme forms part of a significant housing-led expansion area identified within the northwest of the city and has been planned to provide a substantial mix of affordable and private housing over the coming years.
The wider H2 Lands site extends across approximately 140 acres west of Buncrana Road and has been identified as a major strategic growth location within Derry. Early masterplanning proposals outlined the potential for around 3,000 homes alongside supporting infrastructure, open space and community facilities, representing an estimated £ 450 million investment over the long term.
The first affordable housing phase currently under construction is being delivered for Apex Housing Association by Braidwater Ltd, with architectural design led by Here Architects. The development includes a mix of social and affordable homes intended to address continued housing demand across the Derry and Strabane area.
Planning and infrastructure coordination for the wider H2 Lands masterplan has involved TSA Planning, which has supported development proposals for the lands west of Buncrana Road. The overall strategy includes phased residential delivery integrated with landscaping, movement routes and future community infrastructure.
