According to project consultants, the development is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating and incorporates an allelectric heating and cooling strategy aligned with London Plan decarbonisation objectives.
The completed medical centre will utilise a combination of air source and ground source heat pumps supported by thermal boreholes extending approximately 205 metres below ground level. The system has been designed to provide heating and cooling across the facility while accommodating the site’ s spatial and heritage constraints.
Additional healthcare infrastructure includes consulting and diagnostic accommodation capable of supporting
more clinically demanding medical applications, including operating theatres. The flexibility of the basebuild design has reportedly attracted interest from a range of healthcare occupiers linked to the Harley Street medical sector.
The wider Harley Street Health District continues to expand as a specialist medical and healthcare cluster, with the Howard de Walden Estate investing heavily in healthcare-focused redevelopment projects throughout the area. The 1 – 7 Harley Street scheme forms a key part of that long-term strategy.
Construction is currently scheduled to continue, with shell works anticipated to complete during 2026. As the structure rises above basement level, the project represents one of the most technically demanding healthcare redevelopments currently underway within central London’ s private medical sector.
