Deconstruct( UK) Limited is delivering the redevelopment of 1 – 7 Harley Street in London, transforming a group of Grade II listed buildings into a major new private medical facility within the Harley Street Health District.
Construction is progressing at 1 – 7 Harley Street in Marylebone, where Deconstruct( UK) Limited is leading a major healthcare redevelopment for Howard de Walden Estate Management Limited. The project will create a new private ambulatory surgery and diagnostics centre within London’ s internationally recognised Harley Street Health District.
The redevelopment forms part of wider investment by the Howard de Walden Estate into healthcare infrastructure across Marylebone. The completed facility has been described as a £ 100 million private medical centre designed to support consulting, diagnostic and clinically intensive healthcare uses within central London.
Architectural design has been led by Sonnemann Toon Architects LLP, whose plans combine restoration of the existing Grade II listed buildings with substantial new structural works below ground level. The project involves retention of historic façades and perimeter rooms while introducing new basement accommodation and contemporary medical infrastructure behind the preserved heritage frontage.
The site occupies a prominent location overlooking Cavendish Square Gardens and includes a group of late Victorian buildings within Westminster’ s Harley Street Conservation Area. Heritage protection and structural retention have therefore formed a central part of the redevelopment strategy.
Deconstruct( UK) Limited commenced enabling and structural works during 2024, with the programme involving extensive basement excavation beneath retained listed structures. Project updates released during 2025 confirmed that basement construction had advanced significantly, including slab pours and major substructure works.
