Construction is progressing smoothly on the new 70-apartment extra care development in Newport .
Queenswood , situated on Station Road , is being developed by The Wrekin Housing Group in collaboration with Staffordshire-based Keon Homes .
Conveniently located just a ten-minute walk from the market town , this project will offer high-quality living spaces and comprehensive care and support for individuals over 55 .
Supported by Homes England , the £ 11.9 million development will feature 70 one and two-bedroom apartments , all available for affordable rent to local residents .
Queenswood is designed to encourage independent living within a community setting , with a care team on-site 24 / 7 to provide tailored care packages as needed . Residents will also have access to a variety of facilities .
The development will include a café and landscaped gardens , which will be open to the local community .
