GLENMONA & GLENMONA HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Glenmona in West Belfast is one of the largest housing development projects in Northern Ireland in recent years .
Glenmona is a new mixed-use urban village developed by Apex Housing Association under the guidance of leading house builder BW Social Affordable Housing , which is part of the Braidwater Group .
The massive seven-year programme commenced in 2021 and will see the construction of 653 new homes , including 549 social housing units and 104 units classed as affordable housing .
The £ 140million scheme has been supported by £ 47.2million Housing Association Grant funding from the Department for Communities and over £ 92.8million private finance investment by Apex and will include a number of other community and workspace facilities .
As well as housing on the Glenmona site , there will also be two replacement residential care homes ; a mixed-use area including a local neighbourhood retail centre with shop units ;
