CEF AWARDS - MARSH BARTON RAILWAY STATION
The CEF Excellence Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the local construction industry and to publicise the substantial contribution that the sector makes to the economy and society .
The new £ 16m Marsh Barton Railway Station in Exeter for Devon County Council saw Graham win the CEF Awards category of GB & RoI Infrastructure / Civil Engineering Project of the Year Award , above £ 2.5m
Located in Exeter ’ s largest trading estate and one of the largest employment sites in the region , Marsh Barton station now plays a major part in improving access to the area from across the city , as well as enhancing links from growth areas to the east of Exeter following its completion in June 2023 .
The station will help to unlock development and employment opportunities at Marsh Barton whilst also benefitting existing businesses and residents by encouraging people to shift to a more sustainable mode of transport .
The station encourages leisure travel through its proximity to the Riverside Valley Park , providing easy access for walking and cycling activities . It also provides a close link to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital as well as County Hall .
