During the planning process , Watkin Jones Group carried out extensive community engagement through an online public consultation , as well meetings with local organisations such as the Creative Quarter , the Salvation Army and the Students ’ Union .
This project targeted a BREEAM score of Excellent through carbon-reducing features , including air source heat pumps for hot water production , enhanced insulation and reduced air permeability and photovoltaic panels supplying energy .
