Pride in the Job has been running for over 40 years . It ’ s the most highly regarded competition in our industry and a prestigious benchmark for exceptional site managers .
By showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence , Pride in the Job continues to inspire site managers to build homes of the highest quality .
Judging for the awards is meticulous , beginning a year before the announcement of the first round of winners . As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site , each site manager is assessed across 44 areas of site management , including their technical knowledge , consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place .
House building is always a team effort , but the calibre of the site manager has the most significant influence on the quality of the completed home . Winning site managers demonstrate incredible dedication , passion , commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality . The judges look for that spark of magic that turns a good site manager into a true great .
Every site registered for an NHBC Buildmark warranty is automatically entered into the competition . There are no entry fees or forms .
The competition is fully inclusive and representative of the UK house-building industry with three categories for different sized businesses : small , medium and large , with a separate multi-storey category .
