At ground floor , car parking will be available beneath the podium deck . Car parking and bicycle holds will also be available in the basement , where storage , MEP plantrooms and water tanks will also be situated .
The external area of the development is also set to have extensive landscaping to provide greener living space in the city .
The historic area includes a Grade II listed viaduct which will be transformed into a sky park , providing an inspiring , walkable link to the city .
The Main Contractor on the development is John Sisk & Son . Sisk Managing Director for UK North , Alan Rodger , said : “ I am delighted that Hub Group have chosen Sisk for their first residential development in Leeds – Latitude Purple .
“ The development will help expand the city centre and provide hundreds of quality homes for the local community .
“ I am excited to bring Sisk ’ s extensive experience , culture and understanding of modern city living expectations to the development .”
Latitude Blue is Hub Residential ’ s second phase of the project at the site . Once again designed by local architects Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher , it will bring the total
Latitude development up to 951 homes by adding a further 488 Build to Rent homes .
The scheme has been developed in close collaboration with the local community , ensuring that the development will serve both its residents and neighbours . As well as new homes for local residents , Latitude Blue will provide active uses at ground floor , designed to bring the community together .
There will be new public realm and retail , and the scheme will eventually link to the city centre via the ‘ Holbeck Viaduct Project ’.
Sustainability is another key consideration for the development , and proposals include an efficient energy strategy , low levels of car parking , extensive cycle facilities , and soft landscaped areas that promote biodiversity .
Victoria Manston , Senior Development Manager at HUB , said : “ We are thrilled that Leeds City Council has approved our plans for Latitude Blue , which are the result of close collaboration with the local community .
“ We hope to start on site later this year and look forward to delivering a scheme that contributes positively to the local area , as well as providing a fantastic place to live .”
