VISION
Chester Northgate is the new development of streets , parades and amenities and is an innovative approach to city-centre design . One that slots seamlessly into the existing architecture of the historic city of Chester .
Kawneer is proud to have provided market-leading solutions for the £ 72 million build . With a six-screen cinema , indoor market , bars , restaurants , cafés , office spaces as well as a multi-storey car park , Northgate will revitalise the city centre and create a potential of 300 jobs .
TRANSFORMATION
Designed by AHR , built by Vinci Construction and installed by our approved specialist subcontractor APiC UK Ltd , Kawneer supplied its AA ® 100 and AA ® 110 Curtain Wall Systems , AA ® 190 TB Doors and AA ® 720 Windows with stepped units to aid the redevelopment of the project .
Kawneer ’ s energy-efficient , and aesthetically pleasing products ensured that the performance of Northgate matches its striking appearance . A use of terracotta on the project subtly references at Chester ’ s Roman past .
REALISATION
Kawneer ’ s solutions enabled Northgate to optimise its thermal performance and aesthetic appeal , enhancing its efficiency and safety .
The curved head screens that follow Northgate Street into Hunters Walk exemplify the Kawneer approach to building legacies : a development focused on the future , while retaining the best of the past with well-considered design and exceptional quality .
