Of course there are other things to watch out for in the year ahead, including a change to the Right to Buy rules. Previously many of you who looked to buy your home were only entitled to the Right to Acquire your home – meaning you benefitted from a discount of up to £16k. But following a Government announcement last year, you might be eligible for Voluntary Right to Buy when it comes into force, meaning the discount could be anything up to £79k off the price of your home. The details from the Government are still very sketchy on this, with no clear idea of when this will be launched.
